Manchester United will be looking to increase their two point lead at the top of the English Premier League when they travel to face Blackpool at Bloomfield Road. Blackpool will climb up to 7th in the table if they can hand United their first Premier League defeat of the season.
Leading goal scorer DJ Campbell is suffering from illness and is doubtful for Blackpool. Richard Kingson and Stephen Crainey are also injury doubts, and will be assessed ahead of kickoff.
Ian Holloway will include Tangerines captain Charlie Adam, despite the fact that the midfielder this week handed in a transfer request. “If I tried to stop that boy playing against Manchester United he would probably kill me,” Holloway told BBC Sport.
Manchester United have not let up a goal in their last three games, and will be hoping center back Rio Ferdinand can shake off a groin injury in time to play. Rafael da Silva will return from suspension for the Red Devils, while Michael Carrick has an ankle injury and will be assessed ahead of kickoff.
